Roto Pro Plumbing and Drain is looking for an experienced Journeyman Service Plumber to join our growing Vancouver team.

About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced service plumber who can take ownership of a service van, run residential and light commercial calls independently, diagnose problems accurately, communicate clearly with customers, and deliver high-quality work.
Service, not new construction
This is a hands-on service plumbing position, not new construction. Our plumbers work on everything from everyday service calls to sewer repairs, excavation, and city right-of-way projects.
Guaranteed 40 hours
This is a full-time position with a guaranteed 40-hour workweek. You are paid for 40 hours each week regardless of job volume. Overtime opportunities are also available weekly.
On-call one weekend a month
This position participates in a rotating on-call schedule for emergency service calls one weekend per month.
What You’ll Do

Service & Repair
- Diagnose and repair residential and light commercial plumbing problems
- Perform plumbing repairs, replacements, and installations
- Troubleshoot water heaters, fixtures, water lines, waste systems, and drainage systems
- Follow applicable plumbing codes, safety standards, and company procedures
Sewer & Excavation
- Perform sewer and underground plumbing repairs
- Safely operate a mini excavator for jobs requiring digging and excavation
- Perform hand digging and shovel work when required
- Work safely around existing underground utilities
Right-of-Way Work
- Perform sewer and plumbing work within city and municipal right-of-way areas
- Work around streets, sidewalks, utilities, and other public infrastructure
- Follow applicable right-of-way permits, traffic-control requirements, safety procedures, and restoration requirements
Customers & Paperwork
- Present repair and replacement options clearly and professionally to customers
- Prepare accurate estimates and document completed work
- Identify additional plumbing problems and recommended repairs when appropriate
- Maintain complete job notes, photos, estimates, and invoices in Housecall Pro
- Provide excellent customer service from arrival through completion
Van, Tools & On-Call
- Maintain a clean and professional jobsite
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service van
- Keep company tools, equipment, and inventory organized and properly cared for
- Participate in the rotating on-call schedule for emergency service calls one weekend per month
Required Experience & Qualifications

Licensing & experience
- Valid Washington Journeyman Plumber certification
- Strong residential service and repair experience
- Ability to diagnose, quote, and complete service calls independently
- Previous mini excavator operating experience
- Experience performing underground plumbing and sewer work
- Experience working within city or municipal right-of-way
- Knowledge of applicable Washington plumbing codes
Field work & safety
- Understanding of excavation, trenching, utility locates, and working safely around existing utilities
- Willing and able to perform physical labor, including hand digging and shovel work
- Available for emergency on-call service one weekend per month
Skills & communication
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
- Excellent customer communication skills
- Ability to clearly explain findings, repair options, and recommendations to customers
- Comfortable using mobile technology and Housecall Pro for daily field operations
Driving, van & professionalism
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Willing to maintain a clean, organized, and professional service van
- Responsible for keeping company tools, equipment, and inventory organized and properly cared for
- Dependable, organized, and able to take ownership of your work
- Professional appearance and workmanship

- Oregon plumbing license is preferred but not required
- Additional sewer, excavation, drain, or municipal infrastructure experience
- Experience with hydro jetting and sewer camera inspection is a plus

$45–$55/hr

Technology & Equipment
Roto Pro Plumbing and Drain operates on an Apple-based technology ecosystem. Field plumbers are provided with a company iPhone and iPad and use Housecall Pro for scheduling, estimates, invoices, job documentation, photos, and communication.
We provide our team with professional equipment and modern technology so our plumbers can stay organized in the field and focus on doing quality work.
